The Special Unmanned Systems Unit "Taifun" was established in 2024. The unit is part of the National Guard of Ukraine.
"Taifun" deploys wherever the defense forces need rapid support, operating effectively alongside adjacent units. Our area of operations spans the entire front line, with a focus on the Pokrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv directions.
The unit specializes exclusively in unmanned systems and technological equipment — multirotor drones and fixed-wing UAVs, electronic warfare (EW) and electronic reconnaissance (ER) systems, as well as interceptor drones. We detect and engage targets using the latest — and sometimes experimental — weapons from both foreign and Ukrainian manufacturers.
The core value of "Taifun" is effectiveness. That is why we above all protect the people who deliver it. We train extensively, test rigorously, and work only with the best unmanned systems available.
We are a special operations unit. This means every member is proficient in all roles and performs their work at the highest level.
Began his military path in 2015 as a machine gunner in the Omega North special forces unit. Took part in combat operations in Pisky and Luhanske. Since 2022 — participated in the Irpin operation, and in battles in the Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia directions. He rose from a fighter to a unit commander. Awarded the Medal “For Military Service to Ukraine” and the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Cross of the Brave”. Full Cavalier of the Order “For Courage”.
National public figure, 3rd rank in the civil service. In 2022, he joined the Lutsk Battalion of the DFTH, and in the same year he volunteered to join the National Guard of Ukraine in a special forces unit. In January 2024, he was appointed commander of the Special Forces Group (BMTZ) of the separate Special Forces detachment “Wings of Omega”. He took part in combat operations in Donbas and Zaporizhzhia region. Recipient of the “For Valiant Service” badge and the 2nd Class Order of Archangel Michael, bestowed by the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
From 2009 to 2013, he studied at the Academy of Internal Troops. After graduation, he served in Military Unit 3027, with which he took part in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) across multiple fronts. From 2016 to 2024, he carried out various logistics-related tasks in the Omega special forces unit. In 2024, he joined the unmanned systems unit "Taifun," where he currently holds one of the leading positions.
